Dear Reader,

“Life in Estonia” is a quarterly magazine in English bringing to you the latest developments in Estonia under sub-sections Land & People, State & Society, Education & Science, Economy & Business, Culture& Entertainment and Tourism. The magazine has been published since 2002 with 25 issues to date.

Since regaining their independence in 1991, Estonians with the population of only 1.3 million have been extremely successful in different walks of life. We take equal pride in our artists, musicians, designers and scientists as well as ordinary Estonian people whom we mainly owe our success story to.

Naturally, Estonia is not a fairy-tale country – we also have our setbacks and shortcomings, and our magazine tries to be objective and not falsely glorify the life in Estonia. Still, there is so much to be proud of and so many wonderful things to be shared with foreign readers.

I truly hope that our magazine helps to win Estonia new friends who would come here to visit a concert or an exhibition, to find new business partners or just to admire our intact landscape.

Enjoy,

Reet Grosberg,
Editor-in-chief of “Life in Estonia”
